Q:
|
Can I use factory hood hardware to
close and latch the hood?

|
| A: |
We put steel reinforcing in the
hood latch and hood hinge areas.
You can use all factory mechanisms and
bolt them directly into our hoods. |
|
|
Q:
|
Are the vent slots in the fiberglass
hoods cut out?

|
| A: |
Yes we do cut out the vent slots in all
our hoods. |
|
|
Q:
|
How do you clean Stainless Steel parts?

|
| A: |
The best way to remove tarnish marks is
to use rubbing compound to clean the
part, then wax with automotive wax. |
|
|
Q:
|
Can I use my stock heater and wiper
motor setup with the bronco tub? Are
there any modifications needed?

|
| A: |
Yes you can use the heater and wiper
motor, sometimes the thickness of the
fiberglass requires some modification,
but not in these areas. |
|
|
Q:
|
I understand that your fiberglass parts
are strong but, would your tailgate be
strong enough to sit on at a tailgate
party? 2-3 people

|
| A: |
The answer is yes, why, because we
reinforce the tailgate with steel
tubing that runs the complete length of
the tailgate, and the pivot latch pins
in the tailgate are also reinforced
with 1/4" x 1" steel.
|
|
|
Q:
|
What is the weight difference between
the fiberglass body and the steel body
on Bronco's

|
| A: |
The weight savings for the Bronco is
approximately 150-200 Lbs. |
|
|
Q:
|
Do you install reinforcement for seat
belt installation on fiberglass bodies?

|
| A: |
No we do not put steel reinforcing for
the seat belts. We do recommend that
you use either fender washers or an
1/8 x 2 x 2 steel plate on the
underside of the body. |
|
|
Q:
|
How do your bodies compare to your
competitors' bodies ?

|
| A: |
This is a touchy question. I don't
believe in knocking our competitors.
Our best answer to this is, in our
opinion, we make the best product
available. |
|
|
Q:
|
What is the thickness of the fiberglass?

|
| A: |
The thickness of the fiberglass varies.
The parts that require assembly of more
than one component piece are usually
thinner at the mating areas, but the
overall piece becomes stronger when the
pieces are bonded together. Some parts
such as inner fenders and outer fenders
do not need to be too thick. In the
assembly process sometimes the
thickness is a deterent and the parts
must be ground to get them to fit
properly. |
|
|
Q:
|
Do you offer a warranty on your
fiberglass products ?

|
| A: |
We do not have a written warranty. We
do however, offer a quality replacement
product. We know that the products will
fit because we have assembled these
products ourselves. The assembly
process is time consuming and takes a
lot of common sense when it comes to
positioning and fitting the parts. |
|
|
Q:
|
How durable is fiberglass and will it
hold up in extreme temperatures ?

|
| A: |
Fiberglass is a very durable product.
It can withstand extreme temperatures
and will also flex and stretch before
breaking. The nice thing about
fiberglass is that it can easily be
fixed in the the event of an accident
or cracking. |
|
|
Q:
|
What must I do to prepare the
fiberglass for painting ?

|
| A: |
First you should clean the gel coat
with a wax and grease remover. The gel
coat is the white outer surface of the
part. Next you should start by sanding
with a 280 grit wet sandpaper, then
with a 320 grit wet sandpaper. Follow
the paint primer manufacturer's
recommendation for final sanding. Make
sure all surfaces are completely
sanded, otherwise your primer and paint
will not stick to the gel coat surface. |
|
|
Q:
|
How high is the scoop on the Bronco

|
| A: |

inches wide and is 3 inches high. |
|
|
Q:

molding in your hardtop ?

|
| A: |
Yes, you can use existing glass and
rubber in all our tops, hardtop or half
cabs. |
|
|
Q:
|
What is included in the body tub ?

|
| A: |
The body tub is a complete unit from
the firewall to the tailgate. It
consists of the the firewall, door
posts, inner floor pan, rocker panel,
outer quarter panels with tail light
caps, and under structure reinforcing

|
|

from the standard body or fender line. |
|
|
Q:
|
What are the dimensions of the Cowl
Induction Hood ?

|

nothing in the front and raises 3
inches up at the rear of the hood. The
width is 25 1/2 inches. Plenty of room
for a high rise and carb. |
|
|
Q:
|
Are all the Broncos the same ?

|
| A: |
The early Bronco was manufactured from
1966 thru 1977. There are some
differences in these years. For example
the 1966 thru 1968 Broncos have a
different door latch assembly than that
of the remaining years. We manufacture
our replacement body using the door
latch steel plates for the 1969 thru
1977. The 1977 model has gas tank
doors, and we do not make provisions
for these in our body tubs. There are
some other minor differences but these
have no effect on parts. |
|
|
Q:
|
Where is the steel reinforcing ?

|
| A: |
Good question. We use rectangular steel
tubing in and around the tailgate area.
This adds strength for our operable
tailgate and also reinforces the rear
body mounting area.
We put drilled and tapped plates in the
door post areas for mounting the doors
and door latch pins.
In the Bronco, we also provide a steel
cowl section for mounting and fastening
the dash, hood and swing pedals. We
provide steel in other parts such as
the hood, radiator supports,
tailgates, liftgates, windshield frames
and doors. |
|
|
Q:
|
What kind of reinforcing do you use in
your bodies ?

|
| A: |
We use steel reinforcing where
possible and structural fiberglass to
add strength and durability. |
|
|
Q:
|
Do you sell body kits ?

|
| A: |
We do not have a package deal on
parts and we do not have "kits". We do
however, make and sell all
the component pieces in fiberglass to
completely restore your Bronco or Scout. |
|
|
Q:
|
Can I use my good steel parts with
your fiberglass body ?

|
| A: |
Yes, you can use steel parts
such as hood, fenders, tailgate,
hardtop and doors on our fiberglass
bodies. |
